HOME Thomas L. Bass

Thomas L. Bass

Mr. Bass was born in Melbourne, Florida in 1938, and he graduated from Duke University with a B.A. degree in 1960 and an LLB degree from the Duke University School of Law in 1963.

The Macon Bar Association awarded Mr. Bass the title of Lawyer of the Year in 2003. In addition, he received the Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Ulyanovsk State University in Russia in recognition of his civic and religious contributions to Macon and, in particular, his chairmanship of the Board of Trustees of Wesleyan College.

Mr. Bass’ areas of practice include commercial and residential real estate, corporate representation, estate planning, and probate work. He is a member of the Macon Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia in which he served as chairman of the Juror’s Handbook Committee.

Mr. Bass’ civic involvement includes serving as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the United Way, the first chairman of the Macon-Bibb County Library Board of Trustees, as well as President of the Board at the Museum of Arts & Sciences and the Georgia Industrial Children’s Home.
