Biography
Jonathan A. Alderman was born in 1961 in Evansville, Indiana, and was raised in Cochran, Georgia where his grandfather Lucian A. Whipple practiced law for 75 years, retiring at age 97, and where his father was President of Middle Georgia College. He received an Associate degree at Middle Georgia College in 1981 and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, summa cum laude, at the University of Georgia in 1983, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, at the University of Georgia in 1986. He has been with Anderson, Walker & Reichert since 1986.
Mr. Alderman's areas of practice include estate planning, estate administrations, preparation of wills, trusts, contracts, and prenuptial agreements, real estate transactions, adoptions, incorporations, business advice, and representation of charitable entities. He also is experienced in litigation in the areas of personal injury, estates, insurance defense, commercial/contract, and real estate.
Mr. Alderman is married to the former Amy Holland of Dexter, Georgia, a school teacher for over 40 years in Jones, Baldwin, Twiggs, Bibb, Ben Hill, Walton and Clarke Counties, Georgia. His daughter Kim is a nurse practitioner in Columbus, Georgia.
